Ayman Sheik serves as Secretary of Wayfinder Community Inc and brings extensive experience in education, youth engagement, religious instruction and community service.

A fully qualified secondary school teacher with many years of experience, Ayman has worked closely with young people across different stages of their development and understands the pressures, opportunities and challenges they can face both inside and outside the classroom.

He is also highly knowledgeable in religious studies and has contributed extensively to religious instruction, mentoring and community support. Over many years, Ayman has volunteered significant time to supporting individuals, families and young people within the local community and has become a trusted and consistent presence for many.

One of Ayman’s greatest strengths is his ability to move comfortably between his professional role as an experienced secondary school teacher and his role as a religious educator and community mentor.

This allows him to connect educational principles, values, identity, responsibility and practical life guidance in a way that is accessible and meaningful to young people.

His ability to understand both formal education environments and community based settings gives him a valuable perspective when working with young people who may be navigating questions around identity, belonging, education, family expectations and their future direction.

Ayman has also played an important role in liaising with young people, families and community supports, helping to strengthen relationships and create opportunities for young people to remain connected, engaged and supported.

As part of Wayfinder’s leadership team, Ayman contributes not only to the organisation’s governance and administration, but also to its broader vision of creating strong, culturally informed and community connected pathways for young people and families.
